Balanced Starkville Scoring Dominates Germantown
STARKVILLE - A balanced scoring attack throughout the Starkville roster led the Lady Jackets to a dominating, 61-19, win over Germantown on Tuesday night at The Nest.
A total of 10 different players posted points in the scoring column in the effort as SHS wrapped up the first go-round through Region 2 with a perfect mark.
Senior Jada Gay, who surpassed thew 1,000 career scoring mark in the Murrah contest last Friday, led all scorers with 20 points. Gay finished the night 9-of-16 from the field and also pulled down seven rebounds. She added a pair of steals and a block in the contest.
Junior Zariah Brown was just shy of double digit points with nine on the night. Junior Morgan Willaims added six points, while junior Logan Warren and seniorJade Brown contributed five points each. Junior Kamare Holmes led the Lady Jackets in bench scoring ewith six points off the bench.
The Lady Jackets jumped out to a 23-8 lead after one quarter and held the Lady Mavs scoreless in the second quarter, while extending the lead to 40-8 at the halftime break.
SHS will host Clinton on Thursday night at The Nest. Tipoff is set for 6 p.m. The region match up was moved up a day due to the winter weather concerns on Friday., Tickets are available at GoFan.co.
