Starkville's Campbell Davis Named North MVP
STARKVILLE – Starkville High School's Campbell Davis led the North squad in the 2026 Mississippi North-South Volleyball match on Wednesday night in conjunction with the Mississippi Association of Coaches conference in Brandon, Miss.
Davis, a rising senior for the 2026 Lady Jackets, was named the Most Valuable Player for the North squad.
Her invitation to participate in the annual Mississippi North-South activities is just the latest of a long list of accomplishments by Davis on the court. She is the first SHS volleyball player to earn a spot on the North squad. As a junior, Davis led SHS to a berth in the 2025 MHSAA Class 7A State playoffs for the second consecutive season.
She collected multiple postseason honors following her junior campaign as she was named to the Class 7A All-Region 2 Team and was voted the Jackson Clarion-Ledger's Top Mississippi Volleyball player. She earned recognition from the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) as a member of the organization's 2025 AVCA Phenom Watch List. The Phenom Watch List recognizes up-and-coming underclassmen for outstanding court performance. Campbell also excelled in the classroom with an All-Academic Region 2 selection.
As a junior, she finished with 326 kills, 233 digs and 90 assists, Campbell was named the SHS Offensive MVP by the coaching staff following the season at the teams annual awards banquet.
Campbell enters her final season in the Black and Gold having already surpassed the 500 career kills mark and is approaching more career milestones heading into the 2026 campaign that begins in late July.
SHS opens the 2026 season on Friday, July 31 at the Mississippi Volleyball Invitational in Jackson.
